CAPISTRANO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
SUPERINTENDENT TO HOLD COMMUNITY FORUM
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA. – A community forum with Capistrano Unified School District Superintendent Kirsten Vital is set for Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Ladera Ranch Middle School. The Superintendent’s forum will give an overview of the school site assessments currently under development.
These assessments are a multi-disciplinary review of the various building systems of a facility or group of facilities and will provide a benchmark of the performance of the building and prioritize projects for maintenance, repair or renewal, which will enable the District to make informed decisions regarding risks and future investment in our classrooms and campuses.
Within the report, a Facility Condition Index Grade and Impact (FCI) is given to buildings to assess facilities failure risk, facilities issues and the anticipated maintenance impact of maintaining these facilities. The FCI is used to identify opportunities for consolidating projects, prioritizing critical projects, plan for operational and capital budgets and long-term facilities planning.
These reports will provide the District with high quality and usable data on the condition of facilities for planning and the prioritization of projects including capital renewal, replacement cost and current FCI levels by facility.
We will also discuss District’s continued investment in our classrooms and campuses, including work we completed across the District over the summer.
